One of the benefits of living in Arizona is having green grass all year long. Enjoy your yard in the cool winter months by over-seeding your summer lawn with a rye grass. This winter grass will keep your yard looking beautiful and healthy. We install winter grass in Gilbert & Queen Creek.
Step 1
When the weather starts to break here in mid to late September the night temperatures will start getting into the 60 degree range and this makes for perfect over-seeding. Once the temperature is cooling off at night it is time to prepare for your winter grass installation. Call and get an appointment set with Pete's Lawn Care if you live in Gilbert or Queen Creek, AZ.
Step 2
A week before you dethatch your lawn go around your lawn and check all sprinkler heads and make sure your lawn is getting very good coverage over everything. If a head needs replacement now is the time to it.
Step 3
Now that your lawn is dried up for a week it is time to dethatch the grass. This is a process of thinning out the summer Bermuda grass and killing it out, don't worry, it will grow back next summer. We will mow the grass extra low, edge the lawn really good and make sure there isn't any green left.
Step 4
Now that the lawn is ready we only use the best rye seed and best growing fertilizer to get your new lawn growing in fast and full. We will cover your lawn with seed and fertilizer so it will grow in green and beautiful. We guarantee full coverage and will come back and reseed on any areas that need it.
Step 5
Water. Water. Water.
Step 6
After 2-3 weeks the lawn is ready for its first mow and reseed as necessary.
